Lorny Pfeifer is a musician, techno DJ, investor, and data scientist. Currently, she is a techno DJ and producer as Drakaena based in Lisbon while performing around the globe. Lorny’s creative energy extends to the musical realm as well, with active participation in various blues and rock bands based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Lisbon. Outside of her musical endeavors, Lorny works in Web3 as an investor based in Lisbon. Prior to Lisbon, she spent years as a venture capital investor investing in startups focusing on artificial intelligence and digital health at 500 Startups and Maschmeyer Group Ventures. Her data science work focuses predominantly on generative AI and computer vision, with some of her research being presented at the LatinX in AI workshop at NeurIPS 2020. She enjoys building communities and was an original founder of LatinX in VC and also the Founding Co-Chair of the AI Future Lab, an action tank and global community of next-gen leaders in artificial intelligence. She’s also a Fulbright Alumni, WEF Davos 50 Alumna, and NASA NCAS Aerospace Scholar.

In the hands-on workshop participants will get an introduction to the conscious use of AI as well as the different ways of using it as a powerful tool to refine musical works and automating the musician’s workflow.

From generating fresh ideas for melodies, lyrics and chord progressions to AI powered synthesis and sampling and automating repetitive tasks to be able to focus on the creative aspect of it – this workshop will cover it all.

Musicians of all levels are welcome to join to receive hands-on demonstrations which will equip them with the knowledge and open source tools to integrate AI into the musical process.
