Description

Drawn from the Samsung Colosseum stage, this image captures Joris Voorn playing to a packed out arena. It was 2:30am and incredibly dark, but I was captivated by the vibrant lighting, which cast pulsating neon outlines over the shapes of the crowd and Joris. I loved creating this one, the atmosphere was great and the view was hypnotic as the lights strobed in time to the music. Using brightly coloured ink, I aimed to recreate that feeling. – Tim King, SzigetVibes 2022 Artist-in-Residence.

Meet the artist

Tim King is an award-winning London-based illustrator, known for his reportage approach, where he immerses himself in environments and uses drawings to capture stories as they happen. His work and creative process has been featured in a variety of British publications and garnered wide interest from the media. Nimi Collectibles and SzigetVibes partnered with Tim specifically for the 2022 Sziget Festival. Tim was able to capture the most memorable experiences and quintessential festival vibes across the Island.
